Solid product, some install hiccups

I picked up the Retrofit Foot Pedal Kit and a new Brushed Nickel Faucet during their Spring Home Renovation Sale. The faucet itself looks nice and functions well, and the foot pedal idea is great for saving water. However, the installation for the retrofit kit wasn't as straightforward as I hoped. The instructions were okay, but I ended up needing a plumber for a small part because of my existing plumbing setup. It added to the cost, which was a minor annoyance. Still, the system works well now, and I appreciate the hands-free aspect. Customer service was responsive when I had a question about a fitting.

Foot pedal is super handy

I grabbed a Foot Pedal Faucet System from Principle Faucets a few weeks ago and it's been pretty cool. Installation took a bit, but once it was in, wow, so much easier to wash hands when you're cooking. No more grimy handles! My husband even likes it, which says a lot. It just feels more hygienic, you know?

Worth the investment

I was looking to upgrade my kitchen without breaking the bank and caught their holiday sale for the Foot Pedal Faucet System. I had been eyeing these hands-free options for a while but the price was usually a deterrent. Getting it with a discount made it feel like a real steal. The setup was manageable, and it's made a noticeable difference in how much water we use, plus it's just super convenient. Definitely felt like I got good value for my money, especially with the sale price.

Does anyone know if Principle Faucets offers any kind of discount for new customers? Like a first-time buyer thing?

B Beth Carter 2 months ago

I don't think they usually do a specific 'first-time buyer' discount. They have sales sometimes though, like around holidays.

i got mine during a memorial day sale, so keep an eye out for those. but yeah, no new customer coupon as far as i know.

How do these compare to something like a touchless sensor faucet? Is one better than the other for hands-free washing?

D David Z. 2 months ago

I prefer the foot pedal way more. Sensors can be finicky, turning on when you don't mean to or not turning on when you do. The foot pedal is super reliable.

touchless are cool but sometimes they get annoying. with the pedal you're always in control, no accidental splashes from waving your hand around.

Are these guys legit? Never heard of 'Principle Faucets' before, but the foot pedal idea is kinda neat.

R Ryan 2 months ago

Yeah, they're legit. I got my system from them last year, no issues.

Hey, does the foot pedal kit work with any kitchen faucet, or do I need to buy one of their specific ones?

M Marcus 3 months ago

From what I remember when I bought mine, it's designed to be pretty universal. Like, it should fit with most standard faucets.

O Omar 3 months ago

Yeah, it works with whatever faucet you've got. That's the cool part, you don't gotta replace everything.

Thinking about getting one of these foot pedal things. Anyone know if they're a pain to install, or can I DIY it?

J Josh Hughes 2 months ago

I put mine in myself, wasn't too bad. Just follow the instructions carefully. Took me a couple hours.

depends on your plumbing skills, lol. i had a friend who's handy help me out, but it seemed pretty straightforward if you know what you're doing under the sink.
